There are at least three types of damps found in a variety of properties, and for all these a correct diagnosis is required because if diagnosed wrongly it can actually do more harm than good:

Rising Damp: It is caused by groundwater rising through capillaries in building materials and results in blistering of walls, peeling of wallpaper and paint We will solve this with injections and a process called tanking.
Penetrating Damp: These will cause patches all over the inside of the exterior walls, in particular around doors and windows.
Condensation: We unconsciously contribute to increased humidity with cooking, showering, drying laundry etc. Moisture from the above condenses on cold surfaces and without sufficient ventilation mould grows in bathrooms and kitchens.

All walls must be waterproofed on the top end to block all the rain water or any precipitation from seeping down the wall and damaging the plaster and paintwork. We also do torch on waterproofing using only SABS approved materials.We recommend the 4 mm thick materials when waterproofing.
